Bruce Lee Quote
DATE: 06 May 2008, 1:03 am / MOOD: Happy

"Defeat is a state of mind. No one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as reality. To me, defeat in anything is merely temporary, and its punishment is but an urge for me to greater effort to achieve my goal. Defeat simply tells me that something is wrong in my doing; it is a path leading to success and truth."

Source: Bruce Lee 1940-1973, Martial Artist, Actor and Author

As I waited for my car to get its oil change, I went to a nearby restaurant to have breakfast where I perused the newspaper. The story I came across reminded me of this quote.

The story was one in a series of stories that profiled recipients of  "The Courage to Come Back Awards" sponsored by the Coast Mental Health Foundation.

The profile looks at the life of a now, 18 year old man, who at the age of seven meet with tragedy. Playing in his back yard with a friend he tugged on a clothesline which released a large wooden post holding up the line which fell and hit this man in the back of the head.

The doctors told him and his mother that he would never be able to walk, talk or eat again.

But because he did not accept defeat as reality he can talk and eat and too a limited degree, using a walker he can walk. He is still mainly confined to a wheel chair. Yet he is a living miracle of the power of staying positive.

In the profile he is quoted as saying; "I look at myself now and think. wow, what an accomplishment. The doctors said I'd never be able to walk, talk, eat. I made it through the pain and the struggles to this day."

The young man is an extreme example of the quote. Just think what you could do with a no quit, no defeat attitude.

This Tuesday, write in your journal about a time you felt defeated and how you reacted to that. How would you approach the situation now?

Have a defeatless Tuesday.

Nick

A Quote and an Affirmation
DATE: 16 Jan 2008, 1:32 am / MOOD: Happy

I can change. I can live out of my imagination instead

of my memory. I can tie myself to my limitless

potential instead of my limiting past

Source: Stephen Covey

This quote can be said as an affirmation. Say it out loud during the day, over and over.

I know I need to. If you are like me, and most of the people I have been reading, or reading about share similar experiences, focusing on the now, instead of some incident of the past, or mocking up conversations, or clever responses to a situation you cannot go back to and change, poses a huge challenge.

We all do this to a degree. The more we snuggle back into the past where we can pretend our actions or our imagined conversations will change the present, the less connected we are to the “now”.

Don’t feel badly that you do this too, just practice to live as many of your moments as possible in the current moment. When you really get it, you will know there is nothing else.

On very rare occasions I have made it up the mountain to that incredible place where you become one with everything in the now. When that happens I know that I have been touched by god or the source, or however you refer to the divine.

Amazingly getting to the top of the mountain is extremely easy. All you have to do is let go. That’s what meditation is all about: letting go.

The hard part is all the struggle and strife we go through to get there. While we scream and kick and trash about, and ‘effort” like mad to get to the summit, we could simple let go and we would be there.

The trap is: we are conditioned to the struggle.

Letting go of that piece of straw you are grasping at, which you think will save you, allthough logical tells you it can’t, is the hardest thing you will ever do.

But do it once, and the next time is easier, and the time after that.

Read the quote again now, write it down somewhere, let it infiltrate your being, let it sink down to bone and sinew and through the cracks into your very soul.

Have a great day,

The SunShine Guy

Why I love Lazzeo
DATE: 29 Oct 2007, 12:05 am / MOOD: Full of life

Hi folks,

I just wanted to tell you how impressed I am with Lazzeo and what it has taught me.

Lazzeo is easy to use, if you join the VIP program you pay 5.99 a month , but earn more than that back each month, and you can work on building your profile and track how you are doing using the Top Users link. I started out below the bottom of that list, but thought I could move my way up the ladder with some work and commitment.

I applied myself and my rankings are climbing up the board, and I am aiming for top ten in all three measurables.

What I learned along the way.

I can do this networking stuff.

That people do listen to what I say and suggest.

That if you stay focused then everything else falls into place.

I visit here almost every day.

I started a group "Friends Of GDI" (Use the groups link to find it) I blog often, post more often, post  bulletin's and stay as active as my schedule allows.

I have made some neat friends along the way. People have visited my website and helped grow my traffic there: Beautiful Summer Morning . Lots of people here downloaded my listbuilding e-book available at List Grow and Prosper .

I urge you to use all the tools available here to promote your business and site.

Along the way , I assure you, you will meet the people who can help you take it to the next level.

Notes From My Journal
DATE: 02 Oct 2007, 11:40 pm / MOOD: Happy

By Nick Grimshawe

Notes From August 14/07

As I sit having supper I thought: "This summer is more wondrous than any I remember."

Why is that?

Viewpoint. My viewpoint changed.

As I thought about the summer a diaphanous scent , a gossamer of the divine waft passed. I took a deep silky breath, greedy to hold onto the nebulous perfume that played at the edge of my awareness.

Sun warmed air brushed over fresh violets called to me, urged me to take the gift into my soul.

This still garden bath in late afternoon sun lingers like a lover reluctant to leave the tender heart of passion.

So I linger too entranced by the moment, calm in the presence of joy.

Me: More at peace with the world, relaxed , able to just enjoy.

Drive Real Traffic to your Website
DATE: 30 Sep 2007, 4:47 pm / MOOD: Happy

Hello,

Getting traffic to our wegsites is a number on goal of most business oriented marketers. You've done the surfing bit: lots of time and effort for low results, you have the SEO submitter, pricey and is it working? Forums and Article writting, time consumming and longterm.

So is there a realatively cheap easy to use system to driving web traffic. The answer is yes.

I was slow to realize the potential of this site. I had the site in my box of tools for months before the power of this system became clear to me when I began to see other peoples testimonials here and there on the net.

Over the last month I have used the site consistently, I even took the upgrade.

Here is the link:

http://www.linkreferral.com/adwel.pl?oldrefid=68926

Don't take my word for it. Join for free use the site consitently for a month and let me know what's happened to your traffic.

Then take the upgrade then.

YOu spend 25 minutes a day at this site, for results you would have to surf for a month to achieve.

Try it out.
