What is stamina?
The dictionary definitions is: resilient energy and strength: enduring physical or mental energy and strength that allows somebody to do something for a long time
In my opinion, if you have a sincere desire to build a network marketing business, you had better have a lot of stamina. It takes much work, and effort, to build a solid business. It is worth it in the long run, but you have to be willing to work and not get blown away by the first light breeze..
Depending on what type of company that may not necessarily be physical stamina, but you will definitely need the mental energy and staying power, to be around for the long haul.
Building a business if full of ups and downs, and just when you think things are running smoothly, some glitch comes your way. You have to be prepared to join, and stay focused and on target. You have to be willing to put forth the effort for a LONG time. It does not happen over night although it may "sound" that way when people hit you up with the latest and greatest deal.
In your early days, it's very easy to get discouraged as you seem to be moving at the pace of a snail. You work hard, but seem to be spinning your wheels, yet you forget you are learning and planting seeds for a harvest later to come. You also meet a lot of people, pitching a lot of deals, that sound so much easier, yet you will find the grass is not always greener on the other side. Sometimes, if you're new and inexperienced, you may be tempted or persuaded to join them, and find 2 days after the ink is dry they are on to another "new deal". You must learn anything worth doing takes time and effort and you must be prepared to endure the hard times as well as the good times. You must not get distracted by the all the pitches people make.
If you planted a crop today, but didn't stick around to take care of it, chances are you'd have a slim harvest or none at all. In network marketing, when you start give yourself 1-2 years to learn and even understand the business. That's minimal, yet you learn as you go.
In addition to stamina, you could also say you need persistence and perseverance.
Perseverance is defined as :
determined continuation with something: steady and continued action or belief, usually over a long period and especially despite difficulties or setbacks
Anyone that has ever attempted a network marketing business quickly learns that while it is "SIMPLE" it's not easy.
Persistence is defined in many ways:
Quality of persisting: the quality of continuing steadily despite problems or difficulties
Act of persisting: the action of somebody who persists with something
Long continuance of something: continuance of an effect after its cause has ceased or been removed
To be successful at anything takes those qualities, Stamina, Persistence and Perseverance.
Only those willing to pay the price, will succeed. Starting up a business is not easy but for those willing to pay the price, it is well worth it in the years to come.
So what is holding you back? If you ever had a dream, that dream can come true, if you only get started, and vow to NEVER quit. Keep on track thru the ups and downs and challenges. Learn from each challenge. Challenges only make you stronger and better.
Don't be like those that start and whine that they are not rich in 2-3 months, or it's not moving fast enough for them. Plan on it taking a few years, give yourself the time to grow the skills you will need to become a smashing success. Plan to work, grow, learn and never let anyone or anything stop you or hold you back from those dreams. Never let negative people stop you.
Don't listen to those that laugh or make fun. For some reason, your friends and family won't want to see you be more successful then they are. Let them stay in their 9-5 ruts. Remember if they knew HOW to build a business, or how to make more money, they might. However, they have never been successful at it, yet they will give you lots of "advice". Why would you take advice from someone that has never done it?. Would you go to a car salesman if you were sick? Would you go to a doctor to buy a car? PROBABLY NOT. Yet you will start a business, and listen to your brother in law, that works for minimum wage down at the local gas station. WHY?
Don't let those types of people steal your dreams.
Dreams were made to happen. If you can wish it, dream it, believe and have the patience and stamina to persist, there is no reason why your wildest dream can not come true. It starts and ends with you. No one but yourself can steal your dream. Go for it for all it's worth and you will be glad you did.
Most likely you are 10 -20 times more talented than me. Many of you reading this, are also much smarter, better educated, and could run circles around me. The one thing I do know I have is PERSISTENCE…and that has got me where I am today. I refused to quit. When I got knocked down, I just got back up fighting. When I got cheated and lied to, I vowed to never be like that and moved on, learning from my mistakes. I did make mistakes, plenty of them. I used mistakes as stepping stones.
Believe me, we all make mistakes. I do not know one single person living in the universe today that could claim they have never made a mistake. Mistakes happen to the best of us. It's what we do with them, that make the difference. If you learn and move on, and keep on hanging on, in time you'll reach your dreams.
IF you chose to cry, quit, or give up, you'll never get there. Sometimes it seems the easy way out, to just throw in the towel. Still, you'll always wonder, down the road, "what if I had not given up?" "What if I had just stuck around and went over, around or through that obstacle?" Where would I be today if I had hindsight? Why didn't I listen to the right people? Why didn't I join that company I had a "prompting" to join? Why did I sit and watch others move ahead and stay stuck in my rut? What is holding me back?
Time passes. Time is the same for you as it is for me. I learned early on, I could make excuses or I could be successful. I could make money or give excuses why things didn't work. Excuses are for the cowards of the world. Excuses make them feel like it was not their fault so they blame someone else. Excuses give them a way out, but often the easy way out, is really a curse. No one ever gets anywhere making excuses.
You want things to change you must be willing to change. Start TODAY.
Take responsibility and get started. Vow to never make an excuse again. Focus on your future and where you want to be, and get it going. Move forward and don't waste another minute of your life. Tomorrow never comes so do what you need to do TODAY. Right now this very minute. Do something positive to move you forward.
Make a vow to get started, moving forward with your dreams and never quit until those dreams become realities. . Build into your life Persistence, Patience and stamina and you'll make it and you'll be glad you did.
Hope to see you at the TOP of the world one day! If you get there first, watch for me, cause I plan to be living the life of my dreams right along side you.
